Team Zeus wins the maiden edition of Bet9ja Foundation Triple Slam in Ekiti
The inaugural Bet9ja Foundation Triple Slam concluded on a triumphant note, with Team Zeus from the Federal University of Oye Ekiti (FUOYE) clinching the championship title.
The event, which seamlessly blended sports and entertainment, featuring rap music, dance, and basketball, marked a significant milestone, held on April 20 at the Adetiloye hall in Ado Ekiti.
Amidst fierce competition, Invaders from the Government Technical College, Ikole Ekiti, secured the second position, while Big Steppaz from the Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti claimed the third spot, showcasing the depth of talent and spirit of sportsmanship among participating teams.
Spearheaded by the visionary initiative of the Bet9ja Foundation, this groundbreaking fusion of athleticism and entertainment was made possible through the leadership of Mr. Bayo Olanlege, former Chairman of the Ekiti State Football Association and CEO of Phoenix Athletics Sports Limited.
His commitment to promoting youth empowerment and community engagement was evident in the resounding success of the Triple Slam.
Team Zeus emerged as the undisputed victors, basking in the glory of their well-deserved victory and claiming the grand prize of 300,000 naira. Meanwhile, Invaders and Big Steppaz demonstrated their prowess, earning accolades and cash prizes of 200,000 naira and 100,000 naira, respectively.
The electrifying atmosphere of the event was further enhanced by the dynamic performances of each team, comprised of talented female and male basketball players, dancers, and rappers. Their scintillating displays captivated the audience, delivering a memorable experience filled with excitement and entertainment.
However, organizers commended the dedication and passion of all participants, whose collective efforts contributed to the overwhelming success of the event.
