HIGHLIGHTS AND ACHIEVEMENTS

Since its establishment, the Sports Club has through its programs been able to mentor and develop some young footballers to level where they now represent Nigeria.

  • Four members of the club’s U-13 team; Oso Ayosunkanmi, Sunday Ajayi, Ajibade Imole and Adebisi Taiwo made the final list of the Nigerian National U-13 team in 2013 while two of the club’s U-15 team; Ajetumobi Ojo and Makanjuola Wale made it to the National U-15 team in the same year.
  • Oluwaseun Jegede a member of our U-13 was discovered by Aspire Football Academy in 2010 and was offered a life time opportunity to join the Aspire Academy in Qatar. He is an invitee with the 2013 Nigeria National U-17 team. He currently plays professional football in Bulgaria with Septemfri FC

The Sports club also uses football to educate the youths through involvement in friendly matches with teams in other states as well as participating in State and National Youths Tournaments in the country. These activities give the youths exposure as well as opportunity to interact with other youths from various background and culture.

Some of the activities of the club (2011-2016) include:

  • Participation of the PASC U-17 in the Federation Cup Competition (Challenge Cup) which took place at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium Ado Ekiti, 13th March – 5th of April 2011
  • All members and crew of the PASC took an excursion to the Ikogosi Warm Spring Resort to celebrate Easter on 9th of April 2012
  • The participation of the PASC U-15 team at the Airtel Rising Stars tournament organized by Airtel Nigeria which ended on the 10th of May, 2012 where six of the members of the team were selected to be part of the team to represent the Southwest zone at Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. The SW team came 3rd in the competition.
  • Donation of clothing materials by a philanthropist, Mr. Lekan Ogunbanjo who has since became an Adviiser and strong pillar of the club. of PASC and Director. Mr. Mustapha Owolabi, a member of the BOT received the gift on behalf of the club on the 14th of May 2012
  • Friendly match between the PASC U-10 and a selected Okemesi Ekiti U-13 on the 2nd of June 2012, the match ended 2 goals to 1 in favor of the PASC team.
  • Registration of the PASC U-17 in the Ekiti State League for 2011/2012 season where the team went on to emerge as the 1st Runner Up in the League.
  • Friendly match between the PASC U-15 team and the Nigeria National U-15 team was held on Monday, 4th of June 2012 at Lokoja Township Stadium, Kogi State. The match ended 3 goals no nothing in favor of the National team side.
  • Participation of PASC U-15 and U-17 in the *Shotz on Target* Football Tournament sponsored by Nigerite Plc. The tournament took place between Nov 8th and Dec 1st 2012. The PASC U-17 won the Silver medal and won a cash award of N200, 000 while the FYSC U-15 won the Best Behaved Team Award and was given 2 sets of football bibs.
  • The club received a package of 50 pairs of soccer boots and other kits, a donation from an Adviser of the club who resides in Canada, Mr Segun Adenuga on 13th of December 2012
  • The PASC U-13 represented Ekiti State at the National U-13 football competition organized by the Nigeria Football Federation in Abuja between 15th and 20th of December.
  • Oso Ayosunkanmi, the captain of the U-15 team won the Chief Odoba Scholarship as the Best Student in JSS 3 to SS1 for the year 2012/2013 session in Ad Grammar School, Ado Ekiti on 20th of December 2012.
  • The 2nd Year Anniversary of the Sports Club took place on 5th of January 2013 at the Fajuyi Memorial Park, Ado Ekiti.
  • The PASC U-16 team played a friendly match against FC Ebedei of Ijebu Ode at the Dipo Dina stadium in Ijebu Ode on 8th of February 2013. The match ended 1 goal to nil in favor of the home team. Six members of PASC was requested for by the management of Ebedei FC. They include: Sunday Alimi, Femi Ogunsakin, Ojo Kereu, Sunday Ajayi Ojo Samson and Wale Makanjuola.
  • The PASC U-16 team represented Ekiti State in the NNPC/SHELL Football Competition (Announciation School, Ikere Ekiti). The team was knocked out at the quarterfinal stage by Enugu State who later emerged at the overall champions for 2013. The final was played on the 24th of March 2013
  • On 26th March 2013, PASC U-10 and PASC U-13 played friendly matches with their counterparts from Ondo State at the Akure Township Stadium. Both teams won their matches with the same score line of 2 goals to one in favour of the PASC teams
  • On 27th March 2013, PASC U-16 team played a friendly march against Kwara Academy at the Academy’ playing ground in Ilorin, Kwara State. The match ended goaless.
  • On 5th of April, the management of PASC paid a courtesy visit to the new Commissioner for Youths and Sports in Ekiti State, Mr. Kayode Olaosebikan who was happy to see and hear about the well being of the members of the Sports Club.
  • The PASC U-17 played a friendly match with the feeder team of Ajiroba F.C. of Ile-Ife, Osun State on the 8th of May, 2013 at the township stadium, Ile-Ife, Osun StateThe PASC U-17 team participated in the Mimiko International Youth Tournament 2013 edition held at Ondo State on 5th-16th of May 2013: The team came 4th  in the competition.Also four members of the team were picked to be part of the 20 man team selected by the foreign scouts present for a 3 weeks European Tour. The players were:Mejabi OlusegunOmojola TemitopeAjidahun Dayo andAdekuoroye Bankole.
  • Also at the tournament, Sunday Alimi a member of the Sports Club won the Highest Goal Scorer Award with 4 goals in 6 matches and was presented with the Golden Boot.
  • PASC won the 2013 edition of Ekiti State League held between 21st June 2013 and went on to represent Ekiti State at the 2013 National Nationwide League Division III which was held at Oshogbo Township Stadium.
  • Bankole Adekuoroye and Dayo Ajidahun, members of the PASC U-17 team got called up to the National U-17 camp in Abuja on 3rd Feb., 2013
  • Alimi Sunday won the Most Valuable Player Award at the Airtel Rising Stars zonal qualifiers at Ibadan ON 9th Aug., 2013
  • 20th August 2013: Deji Obilana and Ajibade Imole, two  members of the FYSC U-13 got invitation to join the Nigeria National U-13 team in Akure, Ondo State for a summer camp.6th September, 2013: Played a friendly match with the National U-13/15 team at the Akure Township Stadium. The match ended 0:1 in favor of the National team. Lekan Akinola and Taiwo Adebisi were invited to join the Nigeria National U-13/1522nd-24th November 2013:   Represented the Lions Club Region 11 at the Lions DG U-13 Football Competition. The PASC U-13 qualified for the quarterfinals of the competition.14th December, 2013:  Two boxes of sports kits was received from Mr. Segun Adenuga   and Adviser of the club who is based in Canada
  • 4TH JAN. 2014: The club celebrated its 3rd year anniversary at the Fajuyi Memorial park. Various Awards were given to outstanding members of the club. Also, the sports kits sent to the club by Mr. Segun Adenuga was distributed amongst members of the club.
  • 14TH JAN. 2014: Bankole Adekuoroye a member of the club signed his first professional Contract with Ekiti State owned Ekiti United Football Club.
  • 27th May, 2014: Three members of PASC U-15 team got invitation to the National camp in Abuja as the team prepares for the first edition of Africa U-15 youth championship.
  • 19TH APRIL 2014: Presentation of sports kits donated by Mr. Lekan Ogunbanjo a sports lover from London at his home in Agege, Lagos.
  • May 29th , 2014 : PASC Main Team went to Ilorin to play a friendly match with Kwara Academy at the Ilorin township stadium. PASC won by 2 goals to one.May 30th , 2014: Sunday Alimi of the Main Team played his first game for the Nigeria National U-17 team in a friendly match against Egypt. The match ended 3:2 in favor of  the Eaglets. He scored the winning goal in the match.JUNE 2014: Olalekan Akinola, Taiwo Adebisi and the captain of the PASC U-15 team Oso Ayo struck gold with the National U-15  team at theAfrican Youths soccer competition held in Botswana.July 2014: The Golden boys as the three PASC U-15 boys that went with the National U-15Team to win gold at Botswana are called donated a brand new mower to the club in the presence o the club.
  • August 17th, 2014:  The management of PASC held a meeting with parents of members of the club. The first extensive Management Board was put in place.On same day, the sports kits sent to PASC from a philanthropist in far away United States of America were shared amongst members of the club to the admiration of the parents.September 5th, 2014:  In a friendly match, Fed. Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti  defeated PASC (Main Team)  4: 3September 7th, 2014: In a friendly match, 3SC feeder team  defeated PASC (Main Team) 3:1September 17th, 2014: The Golden boys received letters of invitation for Ekiti State merit Award from the Office of the Commissioner for Special DutiesOctober 1st, 2014: 3 members of PASC U-15 team received a merit Award from the Governor of Ekiti State.November 5th , 2014: The club bought a 15 passenger bus.
  • December 4th, 2014: Ijebu Pillars 2:0  PASC 2014December 5th, 2014   Almar FC 3 : 2 PASC, 2014January 3rd , 2015: The club celebrated its 4th year anniversary with a street rally tagged 8Walk for youths development through sports*January 12th 2015: The PASC U-17 played a friendly match with the Nigeria National U-17 team in AbujaJuly 26th, 2015: The PASC Main Team registered and competed in the Ekiti State League. The team came 2nd in the league.December 8th , 2015: PASC introduced a youths tournament; Fountain Youths Sports Club Soccer Tournament (FOYSSTON). The tournament is designed with the objective of unearthening the best U-17 male footballers in Nigeria.
  • March 19th 2016: PASC played its first friendly match on the pitch A of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti. The match which is billed for 9am will saw the Flaming Birds trade tackles with LionsGate FC of Ido Ekiti. The match ended 6:1 in favor of PASC.March 24th 2016: The Flaming boy, Tolulope Ojo score a brace has Phoenix AS, Ijan Ekiti defeated Ekiti United FC by 2 goals to one in a friendly match.April 17th 2016: Tolulope Ojo AKA Tolulopez scored his 12th goal in 2016 at the Ikere township stadium when Phoenix AS played a friendly match with Ikere United FC.April 21st 2016: Phoenix AS played a 2:2 draw with 3SC Feeders in Ibadan and went on to lose 0:2 to Ebedie FC of Sagamu at the Dipo Dina stadium, Ijebu Ode the next day.
  • January 17th, 2016: Former Nigeria U17 international Oluwaseun Jegede a product of PASC had a routine medicals before signing a two-year deal with FC Septemvri Sofia in the Bulgarian league.February 14th 2016: The Chairman of Phoenix athletics Sports Club kicked off Fountain Youths Sports Club Soccer Tournament (FOYSSTON)February 18th 2016: Team Lagos beat Team Ekiti 3-2 on penalties on to lift the maiden Fountain Youth Sports Club Soccer Tournament (FOYSSTON) in a hard fought contest at the Sports Complex of Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti.February 28th 2016: Fountain Youths Sports Club of Ado Ekiti, has formally announced that it intends to float Phoenix Athletics Sports Club that will ply their trade in Nationwide League One.

  • April 27th 2016: Phoenix AS played her first match in the Nigeria Nationwide League versus Ebedei Fc in a match which ended 2:0 in favor of the home team.July 22nd 2016: Phoenix AS played her last match in the Nigeria Nationwide League versus Grays FC in a match that ended 1:0 in favor of Phoenix AS. The team got relegated to Nationwide 1 Div 2August 17th 2016: Phoenix AS were at the Teslim Balogun Stadium to watch a live match involving the Nigeria National U-20 team, Flying Eagles play a qualifying match against their Sudanese counterpart..The National U-20 team as a PASC player, Anas Muhammed on parade.November 13th 2016: The management of Phoenix AS re packaged and rebranded the FOYSSTON which was re christened PHOENIX CUP. An inter secondary school football competition in Ekiti State.
  • The organization recently successfully hosted Phoenix ASC All Ekiti State SecondarySchool Football competition. The competition started with preliminaries in all the 16 LocalGovernment Areas on 12th December, 2017 and the final was held at the Oluyemi KayodeStadium on 17th February, 2017 .Below are pictures from the event.
