BET9JA FOUNDATION TRIPLE SLAM UNFOLDS IN EKITI
In order to make sports more engaging and entertaining, the idea of fusing sports and entertainment has been facilitated by an Ekiti based sport administrator.
The former Chairman of Ekiti State Football Association who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Phoenix Athletics Sports Limited, Mr. Bayo Olanlege expatiated on this idea, which he said will foster youth socialization and development in Ekiti State.
Titled, Bet9ja Foundation Triple Slam, BFTS and scheduled to hold in February 2024, the event will encapsulate rap music, dance and a 3×3 basketball competitions, all fused together.
Olanlege further stated that the event will allow a pack of adults, 18 years and above consisting of female and male dancers, rap gurus as well as talented 3×3 basketball players.
“It is about building a culture and to ensure that we create one more platform for Ekiti youths to have some fun. We are not planning to monetize the event so the idea would not be defeated. At the end, we will not just encourage talents to blossom, we will also encourage young people to develop themselves” he said.
He added, “you must be 18 years and above to be a part, maybe as a student or graduate. Years back, platforms such as this was where popular artistes like D Plantashun Boiz et al developed themselves before they became famous and shook the world of entertainment. Such a platform would be created using Bet9ja Foundayion Triple Slam”.
Speaking on how the event will add value to Ekiti State, Olanlege explained that the whole idea is hinged on face-lifting the sport and entertainment sector in the state, making Ekiti an attractive to the other parts of the world.
“People love to go to places on vacation or sight seeing for a reason especially when it comes to exploring. People travel to Paris, Dubai and so many other places. We can also add such value to Ekiti thereby enticing sports and entertainment lovers to our state. In the process, the economy will be affected positively by the reason of how people travel down to the state for this event”.
Finally, Mr. Olanlege called on all interested participants to visit phoenixasl.org.ng for more information and registration.
