The Bet9ja Foundation U20 Women’s Football Competition delivered an electrifying Matchday 2, as Ekiti Queens Feeders secured their spot in the next round with a commanding victory, while FUOYE Dazzlers staged a thrilling comeback to keep their hopes alive in Group B.
In the opening fixture, Ekiti Queens Feeders showcased their dominance with a 2-0 win over Alpine Dazzlers. The state-owned team, backed by the unwavering support of Governor Biodun Oyebanji and his technical advisor Dr. (Mrs.) Olusola Osetoba, demonstrated their growing prowess on the pitch. Posi Olukayode opened the scoring in the 17th minute with a clinical finish, setting the tone for the match. Adebayo Oluwaseyi sealed the victory just after the halftime break, finding the net in the 46th minute. The Feeders’ performance underlined the success of the state’s grassroots football development program, which continues to unearth and nurture young talent.

In the second game of the day, FUOYE Dazzlers kept their tournament dreams alive with a hard-fought 2-1 comeback victory over Golden Queens. The match was a rollercoaster of emotions, with Golden Queens taking an early lead through Jimoh Kudriat’s strike in the 10th minute. A win would have secured progression for Golden Queens, but FUOYE Dazzlers had other plans. Olamide Kaother equalized in the 22nd minute, sparking hope among the university side’s supporters. Adesina Bolanle then completed the turnaround in the 33rd minute, scoring what proved to be the decisive goal.
The victory sets up a dramatic final matchday in Group B, where qualification remains up for grabs and as the Bet9ja Foundation U20 Women’s Football Competition heads into its final group stage matches.
